Welcome to the Greater Wyoming Council

Spanning over half of the State of Wyoming, the Greater Wyoming Council of the Boy Scouts of America provides service for youth from age 5 to 21. The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916, is to provide an educational program for both boys and girls, as well as young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.

Greater Wyoming Council is proud to help with the molding of Wyoming's youth in to tomorrow's leaders.

  • Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge Pamphlet

This merit badge pamphlet has all the information and requirements that Scouts need to earn the Citizenship in the Community merit badge. Scouts will be able to locate and point out chief government buildings, fire stations, police stations, hospitals, and historical or other interesting points in their community. They will get to choose an issue that is important to the citizens of their community, find out which branch of local government is responsible for this issue, find out what is being done about this issue, and how young people can help!
