Welcome to the Greater Wyoming Council

Spanning over half of the State of Wyoming, the Greater Wyoming Council of the Boy Scouts of America provides service for youth from age 5 to 21. The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916, is to provide an educational program for both boys and girls, as well as young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.

This merit badge pamphlet contains all the information Scouts need to work on and complete the requirements for the Digital Technology merit badge. While working on this badge, Scouts will earn their Cyber Chip; become familiar with digitized storage, the difference between lossy and lossless data, compression and digital devices and their uses; learn about computers, mobile devices, gaming consoles, and computer networks and purposes; investigate malware and the protection of digital devices and information; become familiar with terms such as copyright, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets; and learn how to properly dispose of recycle digital technology.
